By Mike De Sisti - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel photojournalist Mike De Sisti’s step father, Ernie Witte, spent the last three years of his life battling colon cancer. His fight came to an end on February 22, 2008. After spending several weeks in the hospital due to complications from the cancer, thanks to Hospice care, Ernie was able to come home where he died peacefully with family by his side. De Sisti documented his step-dad’s trip home.
